Sunday 10 November, 10.45 am Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday is a special day in St Mark’s. We gather to remember the sacrifice and honour the memory of the 31 members of the parish who gave their lives in the First World War and the 29 who gave their lives in the Second World War. After the reading of the names and the placing of poppy wreaths, we observe the silence, along with the rest of the nation. The collection is taken in support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and the picture shows the Rector and members of the parish presenting a cheque for £3,333 collected last year.
