friends of st mark's

What does it mean to be a Friend? Someone who is interested in the preservation of the church and its community for the future.

As the baptismal church of CS Lewis, St Mark's reaches out to an international audience through this Christian author. The building is Grade A listed for architectural and historic interest, and unique as the only church in Ireland by the celebrated English architect, William Butterfield. It is a landmark for East Belfast on the County Down shore of Belfast Lough and visible for many miles.

Friends could be invaluable to St Mark’s to help maintain the fabric and furnishings of this historic church.
Membership is by subscription and includes:
  •  A bi-annual Digest issued by email
  •  A membership pin and access to parish gifts
  •  An invitation to an annual Friends’ Service at end of April    followed by a Gathering
  •  An annual tour of the church for the Friend and a maximum of two guests.
