ST MARK'S DUNDELA BELFAST

A message from the Rector

Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Welcome to the web site of the parish of St. Mark’s, Dundela which we hope you will find helpful and will lead you to deepen your interest in this place of worship for around 800 families in East Belfast.

St. Mark’s is unique in many ways and is particularly famous as the Church where the great writer and Christian apologist C S Lewis was baptised and worshipped as a child. He and his soldier/historian brother Warnie kept up their connections with the church where indeed their father continued to work for the rest of his life. The memorial window that the brothers had erected in memory of their parents can be seen on the south aisle of the church.

Despite this and other distinctions St. Mark’s is principally a worshipping community of believers in Jesus Christ who provide a warm welcome for all who visit with us. Our historical connections mean that we often receive interested groups and individuals and we will be only too happy to share what we can in person or on the World Wide Web.

I hope that this web site whets your appetite for further investigations and that you continue to visit us in whatever you can!

Wherever you are we pray for God’s blessing on you, your family and friends.

John McDowell
