On Saturday 9th of June – We are heading north again this year for our Causeway Coastal Path/Portballintrae summer outing. This is an all-day event, and everyone is welcome so even if you haven’t joined us before please consider coming along. The main walk is a three-hour route from Dunseverick to Portballintrae along clifftop and coastal path (walking boots and packed lunch required). An easier walk is also available along the beach or railway path between Portballintrae and Bushmills, lasting an hour, or you are welcome to come and play on the beach or just sit and watch the world go by. Meet in Portballintrae by 12.30 p.m., car shares will be organised from Heyn Hall at approx. 10.45 a.m., or earlier if you are stopping on the way for coffee! Bring and share dinner afterwards at walk leader’s apartment in Portballintrae (Lynn and Michael Wilson T. 07855 455121). Please confirm your attendance in advance for catering purposes and let us know if you need a lift.
We have several walks planned for July and August and further details will be included in the next edition of the Lion magazine and on the parish website
July – a walk along the Newry Canal. Leader Lesley Donaldson.
August – a beach walk at Murlough. Leader Norman Meharry.
As you can see, we have a varied programme and are always open to suggestions for new walks (or old favourites!).
