St Mark's Mother's Union

Our Branch of The Mothers’ Union was founded in 1904 and is still a well attended organisation supported by our Rector.
Membership does not depend on marriage or parenthood, just a concern with preserving and encouraging Christian Family life; maintaining a world wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service, and helping those in adversity.
We meet on the third Wednesday of each month from September to may and at each meeting we have a different speaker/power point presentation or activity on a wide variety of subjects.
We always begin the year with an Opening Service of Holy Communion in the Church, followed by a Supper in the Heyn Hall. Examples of this years programme are:
- The Bible Society-Aims and Objectives
- The M U Diocesan President on her visit to Uganda
- The Easter Bazaar
- An evening of Patchwork and Quilting
At Christmas we have a Candlelit Supper and shortly after our AGM in May, we have an Annual Outing.
Anyone interested in joining the Mothers’ Union or simply wanting to come along to taste and see will receive a very warm welcome.
