THE ALL-IRELAND MOTHERS’ UNION TRIENNIAL THANKSGIVING SERVICE Held in CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL DUBLIN on Saturday 6th October 2018
Four members travelled by bus to Dublin along with members from other branches within the Diocese of Down and Dromore. The Most Revd Michael Jackson Archbishop of Dublin welcomed all to this Holy Communion Service during which a stained glass crafted tree was dedicated and placed in the Laurence O’Toole/ Mothers’ Union Chapel in the Cathedral. The tree reminds us of Mothers’ Union rooted in faith and reaching out in service through its Branches and members. It completes the celebration of 13 Decades of Love and Service and links each of the twelve dioceses.
Archbishop Richard Clarke preached and prayers were led by Moira Thom (Fundraising and communications), Jacqui Armstrong (Faith and Policy) Mildred Gilmore (Finance and Central Services) and Iris Suitor ( Action and Outreach). The Holy Gospel was read by The Very Revd Raymond Ferguson. Mu Chaplain All- Ireland Jack Oades, Organ Scholar,at Christchurch provided the wonderful accompaniment to 6 well- loved hymns.
