Flower Festival Flower Festival The Flower Festival was a great success! The flowers were spectacular, the atmosphere in Church and Hall was warm and friendly, and people had an opportunity to chat and laugh together. Without the support from so many parishioners and friends helping before, during and after the festival, it would not have been such a splendid occasion.
It was wonderful to welcome back former rectors, curates and their spouses to the opening ceremony on Friday lunchtime when Lady Eames so eloquently opened the festival. From when the ribbon was cut, until the last note of Sortie in Eb major by LefebureWely was played by Mr Edwin Gray, the Church was filled with joy.
The proceeds of the weekend have now been counted and lodged. To date the festival has raised over £11,000! We still expect some donations to be included and there is also some Gift Aid that the Hon. Treasurer will claim back. This is truly fantastic. The Select Vestry would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all donations, monetary, gifts, food and time.
